Although each child has its own pace of growth and development, as parents and teachers, we can always lend a hand so that everything goes as it should. For example, putting into practice these exercises to improve the child's balance.

Balance allows children to maintain stability, especially when they take their first steps. If we work on it, they will soon learn the importance of proper posture, efficient movement and the ability to correctly develop their less simple motor skills.

Learn about exercises to improve your child's balance

These exercises can be performed throughout the child's development, depending on the stage of development. The important thing is that the little one enjoys them and finds them fun, thus improving his balance while having a great time. Be that as it may, it is also necessary to personalize them and adapt them to their growth, their particularities and their abilities and skills.

Balance on one foot

It is a very simple exercise that, in principle, especially if the child is small, we will do with benches adapted to have one foot on the floor and the other on the aforementioned bench.

As the child's skills improve, we can make it more complicated to improve their abilities. For example, replacing the bench with a ball, or not putting anything on one of the feet.

Balancing table

Balance boards are also very useful. In this case we will look for a wooden or plastic surface with a curved shape underneath. Thus, the child will put one foot on each end and try to maintain stability. Once he achieves it, it will also be an excellent achievement, so he will be motivated to keep going and will have a self-esteem appropriate to his abilities.

Treadmill walking

Walking on ribbons by sticking two lines of colored tape on the floor that simulate a balance beam is also an excellent exercise. There should be about 6 inches between the two.

The little one will have to walk between the two without leaving the margins. Once he/she achieves it, we can make it more difficult, for example, reducing the distance between the two tapes to only 10 cm, and so progressively until he/she shows an excellent ability with the achievement.

Hopscotch

Many of the classic games, those we call lifelong, and that we have used parents and grandparents, are still effective for children. A good example of this is the typical hopscotch.

You have to draw with chalk on the ground a figure with lines on which you will have to jump with only one foot, which is great for improving balance and is also a fantastic game that we can enjoy the whole family to have a great time.

Trampoline balance

A small trampoline must be installed at a safe height for the child. Then, once he gets on it, he will have to stand on the end of the trampoline on one foot only. He will also be able to walk on the trampoline while maintaining his posture, which, besides being fun, will be ideal for his physical development.

Gymnastics with balls

Gymnastics with balls is also very useful. Have you seen those big inflatable balls? Well, we will acquire one suitable for the size of the child to do certain tasks, such as keeping the position on the ball, for example.

The bicycle

Once the child is old enough and physically controlled enough to ride a bike, it will be the best exercise to improve the child's balance.
