Technology and robotics are an increasing part of our daily lives, where we all interact with devices, inside and outside the home and almost without realizing it, we give instructions, order processes and delegate actions with these devices, unconsciously simplifying our everyday tasks.
Therefore, it is necessary to provide proposals with which to guide our pupils and show them how to interact with these devices, how to become familiar with their programming language, as well as helping them to take advantage of their educational potential in the classroom.
The basic introduction to the programming language in the Early Childhood Education stage stimulates the development of different mental processes and skills, in addition to making pupils aware of the use of a new language and the results of observing the actions that the robot performs from a sequence of given orders. When programming, a new way of expressing and communicating is acquired and developed.
Programming requires an analysis of a situation and its division into smaller objectives while simplifying and establishing a final sequence with the programming commands that make everything work. Guided by the teacher, the children reflect, anticipate, rehearse and check and then rethink their observations.
In computational thinking we acquire a problem solving method with a coordinated sequence of steps. Also, in this way, we are incorporating basic concepts of programming language.
