At Logos Nursery School we believe in reconnecting students with nature and the true source of their food.

A multisensory multisensory that teaches them valuable gardening and farming concepts and skills that are integrated with various disciplines such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM)as well as various educational objectives, including personal and social responsibility.

Benefits of children's contact with nature

Contact with nature for both children and adults has been shown to improve mood as well as cognitive functioning:

  • Build trust. Children find in nature infinite ways to interact, allowing them to be the ones to make the decision on how to act in this environment.
  • It promotes creativity and imagination. This unstructured style of play also allows children to interact meaningfully with their environment. They can think more freely, design their own activities and approach the world in more inventive ways.
  • Teaches responsibility. Living things die if they are mistreated or not properly cared for, and entrusting a child to care for the living things around them means they will learn what happens when they forget to water a plant or pull a flower from its roots.
  • It provides different stimulation. Nature is more stimulating than any video game. It activates the senses, you can see, hear, smell and touch the different outdoor environments increasing the richness of the human experience.
  • It gets kids moving. Most ways to interact with nature involve more exercise. A simple walk will get them out of a sedentary lifestyle and increase concentration.
  • It makes them think. Nature creates a unique sense of wonder for children that no other environment can provide. The phenomena that occur naturally in these environments every day cause children to ask questions about the earth and life.
  • Reduces stress and fatigue. According to the attention restoration theory urban environments require what is called directed attention, which forces us to ignore distractions and exhausts our brains. In natural environments, we practice a type of effortless effortless attention known as soft fascination that creates feelings of pleasure, not fatigue.
